SmartBusiness Cleveland reports Western Reserve Partners to be “Independent Minded

12/01/2004

SmartBusiness Cleveland magazine ran a feature story on Western Reserve Partners’ “Independent Minded” attitude and the fact that a “back-to-basics approached underlined the founding of Western Reserve Partners.” The page 16 story says that the five partners’ founding of the firm on “Independence Day this year…wasn’t a coincidence.”

The article quoted Ralph Della Ratta as saying, “Clients have problems that are long-term in nature. There’s no quick fix. When defining moments come for the owners of privately held companies, such as the sale of the company, they want results. They want to know what price they’re going to get and the terms and conditions of the sale. The answer to those two things will define that company and its principals for generations.”

Mark Filippell is quotes as saying, “Twenty years ago, there were many investment banks serving the middle market. Today, that’s not the case.”

Victor Faris is quoted as saying, “We have one agenda. And that is, how do we help our clients? We don’t have to think about institutional issues.”

The article pointed out that the partners felt that “the opportunity to build a stripped-down investment banking house…was hard to pass up.”
