Mr. Mayland joined Western Reserve Partners in July 2008 and previously completed a summer internship with Western Reserve in 2007. While at Western Reserve, Mr. Mayland has worked on transactions including public and private company acquisitions, restructurings and real estate capital raising. During the spring of 2008, Mr. Mayland briefly worked in London to help expand the franchising arm of Antal International, a global executive recruitment agency, to 12 countries around the world. He has also served as a legal assistant at the Philadelphia law firm of Clayton H. Thomas Jr. & Associates.

Mr. Mayland was graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania. He majored in Political Science with a concentration in International Relations and minored in Psychology. Mr. Mayland also spent four months studying European politics in Athens, Greece. While at the University of Pennsylvania, Mr. Mayland served as Publicity Manager of the Middle Eastern Forum Club, Vice Chair in the International Affairs Association and Alumni Chair for his fraternity, Tau Epsilon Phi.

Mr. Mayland currently serves as VP of Volunteers and as a mentor for Minds Matter, a non-profit academic and mentorship program that selectively takes highly motivated high school students from urban Cleveland with the goal of 100% placement into top-tier universities. In his free time he enjoys traveling, and prior to joining Western Reserve spent three weeks in Southeast Asia and two months backpacking across Europe. Mr. Mayland additionally enjoys sailing, scuba diving, writing songs and playing guitar.
