On November 18, 2008, a panel covering “Late Breaking News” was moderated by Managing Director David Powlen during the 15th annual Distressed Investing conference sponsored by Beard Group and Renaissance American Management in New York, NY. Recent trends and various bankruptcy cases in the automotive, retail, and print media industries were reviewed. Also, the panel addressed various challenges that may be faced by hedge funds through the remainder of the year, and significant additional contributions that may be required of companies with defined benefit plans in 2009.
