Associate

Associates at Western Reserve Partners enjoy a high level of involvement at every stage of the transaction and frequent interaction with senior bankers and management of client companies. Our Associates are active contributors during every phase of the deal process and are an integral part of the transaction team. They also play a key role in assisting senior bankers with new business generation.

Acting as the primary processor on a deal or proposal, an Associate is expected to master all aspects of executing a transaction – creating a new business presentation, researching opportunities in various markets and industries, managing all financial analysis and modeling and preparing offering memoranda and other written materials. By definition, Associates are hired at a level in which their primary responsibility is to associate with clients, prospective purchasers, potential investors and other individuals involved in a transaction. Associates are expected to be fluent in finance and accounting as well as have good business judgment. Financial analysis is crucial and communication skills are essential.

Associates at Western Reserve Partners hold a demanding position, and as such are required to have the ability to work on two to three transactions at any given time. As their experience level grows, Associates will be expected to manage transactions with minimal supervision and also coordinate the activities of all team members, including clients, lawyers and accountants.

Generally, a law school or an MBA degree is a requirement for an Associate position. However, Analysts who display exceptional ability and an aptitude to take on advanced responsibilities also have an opportunity to be promoted directly to the Associate level.
